Who we are
THE HAWK IN PARIS is a lush, synth‑pop collaboration between lifelong friends Dan Haseltine, Jeremy Bose, and Matt Bronleewe. Dan—best known as the frontman of Jars of Clay—joined forces with producer/songwriters Jeremy and Matt to revisit the electronic textures that shaped their early college days.
Initially conceived as a creative experiment, the trio began writing together casually, drawn to the emotional depth beneath glossy electronic beats. Their debut full‑length album, FREAKS, arrived in 2013 to warm acclaim and fan enthusiasm.
Sonically, the band nods to ’80s synth‑pop and arena‑rock nostalgia, creating richly textured, moody soundscapes. Themes revolve around love, longing, adolescence, and melancholy—always with cinematic vividness. Dan’s lyrics tap into memories and universal moments—sometimes sad, sometimes sweet—allowing listeners to rediscover emotional truths.
Now, after a long hiatus, THE HAWK IN PARIS is back with ten freshly recorded tracks on a brand‑new album. Expect the same beautifully melancholic synth‑pop textures—still vibrant, still introspective, and richer than ever.
